Biggs Cigar Emporium

NPB Art Studio Studio News chalk art, hand lettered sandwich board

Nancy Pochis Bank Art Studio was hired by Ideology Entertainment to create two custom sandwich chalkboards for their newest enterprise, Biggs Cigar Emporium. Located inside the historical Biggs Mansion on North Dearborn Street, the Emporium boasts a fine cigar shop, smoking lounge and patio. Studio artists referenced the building’s stately architecture in the design of these chalkboards. The design is permanent, with a space was left open for the client to write on and erase as needed.

Chicago Public Artwork Goes International

In the summer of 2007, “Cool Globes: Hot Ideas for a Cooler Planet” was launched in Chicago. Nancy Pochis Bank was among an international group of artists selected by the jury to design and create a globe to be displayed in the lakefront exhibit.

Since the start of the "Cool Globes" project, Nancy has created four 5’ globes that have been exhibited across the United States and internationally.

“Cool Globes: Hot Ideas for a Cooler Planet” is a non-profit organization established to raise awareness of climate change and inspire individuals and community leaders to embrace solutions. The public art exhibit features larger-than-life globes, each designed to depict a solution to global warming.
