Last week, Nancy Pochis Bank Art Studio’s exotic nocturnal plant, epiphyllum costarricense, was in full bloom! Also known as Queen of the Night, this rare night-blooming beauty originally hails from Central America. Ours was gifted to Nancy by her former studio neighbor, Peter Jones.
Since the plant blooms rarely, and only at night, we always miss the event. This time, however, we decided to celebrate with an evening of wine, beer and botanic beauty. Of course, eleven of our twelve flowers decided to bloom the night before the party, but one lovely late-bloomer held out and everyone enjoyed basking in its aesthetic and aroma.
