“Nature Nurture” at Greenbelt Forest Preserve

On Sunday, October 2, Nancy Pochis Bank Art Studio’s re-furbished Cool Globe “Nature Nurture: Raise Future Environmentalists” was part of the Greenbelt Cultural Center Grand Opening Celebration, in the Greenbelt Forest Preserve at 1215 Green Bay Rd in North Chicago. Lake County built a stunning new “green” facility. The giant banquet hall has a beautiful wall of windows looking out into the forest, and a “living wall” which you have to see to appreciate. The globe is permanently showcased out in front of the building .

Chicago Public Artwork Goes International

In the summer of 2007, “Cool Globes: Hot Ideas for a Cooler Planet” was launched in Chicago. Nancy Pochis Bank was among an international group of artists selected by the jury to design and create a globe to be displayed in the lakefront exhibit.

Since the start of the "Cool Globes" project, Nancy has created four 5’ globes that have been exhibited across the United States and internationally.

“Cool Globes: Hot Ideas for a Cooler Planet” is a non-profit organization established to raise awareness of climate change and inspire individuals and community leaders to embrace solutions. The public art exhibit features larger-than-life globes, each designed to depict a solution to global warming.
