Five Chalk Boards for Beam Inc.

For many people, the phrase “chalk board art” brings to mind coffee shop menus and Trader Joe’s grocery displays. But more and more companies are finding ways to incorporate chalk art into their corporate office decor.

Nancy Pochis Bank Studio was hired by Beam Inc. in Deerfield, IL to create five word-art chalkboards for their new conference center and lounge. Each board has a different theme focusing on an aspect of spirits and the culture surrounding them.

Chicago Public Artwork Goes International

In the summer of 2007, “Cool Globes: Hot Ideas for a Cooler Planet” was launched in Chicago. Nancy Pochis Bank was among an international group of artists selected by the jury to design and create a globe to be displayed in the lakefront exhibit.

Since the start of the "Cool Globes" project, Nancy has created four 5’ globes that have been exhibited across the United States and internationally.

“Cool Globes: Hot Ideas for a Cooler Planet” is a non-profit organization established to raise awareness of climate change and inspire individuals and community leaders to embrace solutions. The public art exhibit features larger-than-life globes, each designed to depict a solution to global warming.
