1871 & CEC Monument Awards

NPB Art Studio Studio News 1871 Chicago, chalk lettering, chalk pavement mural, Radisson Blu Aqua Hotel

Nancy Pochis Bank Art Studio was hired to create a chalk pavement mural to honor and welcome finalists for 1871’s 7th annual CEC Momentum Awards, hosted at the Radisson Blu Aqua Hotel. Nancy and artist Tracee Badway planned and executed a Chicago-themed design, including iconic city landmarks and bold lettering. It was a long chilly day of work, but the final product made it time well spent.

Chicago Public Artwork Goes International

In the summer of 2007, “Cool Globes: Hot Ideas for a Cooler Planet” was launched in Chicago. Nancy Pochis Bank was among an international group of artists selected by the jury to design and create a globe to be displayed in the lakefront exhibit.

Since the start of the "Cool Globes" project, Nancy has created four 5’ globes that have been exhibited across the United States and internationally.

“Cool Globes: Hot Ideas for a Cooler Planet” is a non-profit organization established to raise awareness of climate change and inspire individuals and community leaders to embrace solutions. The public art exhibit features larger-than-life globes, each designed to depict a solution to global warming.
